Terms and Conditions

Payment

Orders can be made via our website or via our mail order form which can be downloaded from our site. We accept all major credit and debit cards for website orders, and payment may be made by personal cheque for orders by post, orders will be dispatched once funds are cleared. Cheques should be made payable to “Poppet and Me”.

All prices include VAT where charged.

Security

Because we take your online security very seriously, we use Protx as our payment gateway to process online payments on our site and Barclays Bank Plc to provide our merchant services. We do not hold any credit card or other sensitive information on our site.

All transaction information passed between merchant sites and the Protx VSP Systems is encrypted using 128-bit SSL certificates. No cardholder information is ever passed unencrypted. You can be completely secure in the knowledge that nothing that is passed to the Protx servers can be examined, used or modified by any third parties attempting to gain access to sensitive information.

Once on their systems, all sensitive data is secured using the same internationally recognised 256-bit encryption standards used by, among others, the US Government. The encryption keys are held on state-of-the-art, tamper proof systems in the same family as those used to secure VeriSign's Global Root certificate, making them all but impossible to extract. The data Protx hold is extremely secure and they are regularly audited by the banks and banking authorities to ensure it remains so.  We are committed to ensuring our payment systems use the latest industry technology, and we are processing the relevant payments through the Verified by Visa and Securecode by Mastercard systems to increase fraud prevention.

Returns

We are sure you will be happy with your purchase. However, if for any reason it fails to meet your expectations please notify us within 10 days of receipt. We will exchange or refund your money provided your purchase is returned to us unused and in its original packaging. We are unable to exchange or offer refunds on individual items in a baby gift basket - the gift basket with its contents intact must be returned unused and in its original packaging. You will be responsible for all return delivery charges and we recommend that you use a recorded delivery service.

Complaints will be dealt with speedily, fairly and effectively. We guarantee to respond to all complaints and to notify you as to the likely timescale and progress of the solution.

Distance Selling Regulations

Under the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000, UK customers have the right to cancel an order placed with us within 7 working days of receipt of the goods. This does not include items that have been personalised or made to your specifications; video recordings, food or other items that you have unsealed; or cost of carriage. The Regulations are designed to protect consumers when buying products by mail order or over the internet as opposed to in person in a shop.

To cancel an order under the Regulations you must notify us in writing by first-class post, or e-mail, quoting your name, address and contact telephone number, a telephone call is not sufficient.

There are certain important conditions and limitations. Please read them carefully. These are:-

  • You must return the goods to us at your expense, (including all packaging, product boxes, etc.) unopened and in exactly the same condition in which the goods were supplied to you. This means that you must not destroy or dispose of the packaging in which the goods are supplied until you know that you do not intend to return the goods.
  • Please note that proof of posting is NOT proof of receipt. You are liable for the goods until they are delivered to us, and we will not reimburse you until the goods are returned to us in good (fit for resale) condition.
  • If goods returned to us are found to be damaged, we will not refund any money. We will tell you this in writing by letter, or e-mail. The goods will then be kept at our premises for 90 days from the date of that written notice, after which time we will dispose of them without any further notice to you. You may collect the goods from us before the expiry of the 90-day period, if you wish, or you may pay us to return them to you as long as you tell us in writing before the expiry of the 90-day period.
  • We therefore recommend that you use the Royal Mail Special Delivery service to return goods to us.  Please contact us to discuss a possible return BEFORE you send anything to us.
